Tom Coyne named Comets' PA announcer

By SPENCER DAVIDSON

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Utica Comets have announced their public address announcer for the upcoming inaugural season, Saturday.

The man they have selected is former WKTV Program Director, Tom Coyne.

Coyne currently co-owns Good Guys Broadcasting in Utica, which airs several sporting events on 95.5 WUSP-FM.

Formerly the voice of the Utica Devils, Coyne, an avid hockey fan, said that he is looking forward to having a professional hockey team back in town, and can't wait for the chance to sit in "the best seat in the house," once again.

Coyne will make his first appearance as Comets PA announcer when they take to the Aud ice for the first time, as they host the Albany Devils in the 2013-14 home opener.

The team will officially begin its regular season on the road, when they head west on the thruway to face the Rochester Americans, on October 11.
