Tony's Pizza to open new location next to AUD

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Just as the Utica Comets are announced to play in the Utica Memorial Auditorium, a business announces it will open a new location next to the AUD.

Tony's Pizza, with one location currently in Washington Mills, will expand to a vacant building outside the Utica Memorial Auditorium.

The new location will be named "Tony's at the AUD."

The owner, Frank Cristiano, thinks the AHL team will be beneficial to his business. He told NEWSChannel 2, "I am very excited. I think it's a fantastic move for the city. Obviously it brings better quality of life, another attraction to come to the city. It gives people something else to look forward to do in the winter, and it will give the AUD more traffic which will benefit the business we are building next door."

Cristiano hopes his shop becomes the "official hangout" for the team and locals.
