Town supervisor concerned with Fulmer Creek
GERMAN FLATS, N.Y. (WKTV) - This week's heavy rain has again highlight the issues with Fulmer Creek in the Mohawk Valley, according to the German Flats town supervisor. Supervisor Frank Spatto is concerned of the mouth of the creek just before it empties into the Mohawk River in Mohawk, where a portion of one farmer's land is slowly eroding away. Spatto also points to a section upstream where there is a massive hillside right next to it, where debris continues to fall. Supervisor Spatto said, "in the past we've had the army corps of engineers and everybody here, and i won't use the language that was used, but they look at this site and they say holy cow, i mean it's so big, they don't know what to do with it." Spatto has a meeting set for next Tuesday to talk with engineers hired by the town to look at a new ways to alleviate some of the problems.
