Toy Train Show draws a big crowd in Utica

UTICA, N.Y.(WKTV) Train enthusiasts from all over Central New York converged on a real train station on Sunday, Utica's Union Station.

The 32nd annual Toy Train Show drew a large crowd on Utica's Main Street.

85 year old David Robinson of Utica has been to all 32 shows, "when I was kid, trains were important, as far as life was concerned...trains have been part of my life since i was a kid."
74 year old Charles Grover, a retired local Episcopal Priest says he remembers the first train he ever played with back in 1939, when he was almost four years old.

Both men were among many older train enthusiasts, but also many young kids and their dads and moms.

8 year old Trenton Thibault says he loves the trains he sees, but doesn't know why. He too may one day end up being one of these enthusiasts that attend every year.

On display in inside the historic train station was a historic 11' X 22' operating Lionel Layout, Polar Express, a Disney operating layout as well there will be a train 'doctor' to evaluate people's trains for repairs or for test, before a purchase.
