Tractor trailer and van involved in Thruway accident

MARCY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Traffic was backed up along the New York York State Thruway a few miles west of the Utica exit on Monday after an accident involving a tractor trailer in a construction zone.

The crash happened just before 1:30 p.m. on Monday in the westbound lane of the Thruway in Marcy.

It appeared a tractor trailer hit the center guard rail and a blue mini van hit the guard rail, although it does not appear that the two vehicle had struck each other. The vehicles sustained only minor damage and traffic was moving smoothly again shortly thereafter
