Tractor trailer carrying soda overturns on thruway

WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - A tractor trailer full of soda was totaled following an accident on the New York Thruway on Wednesday.

Crews from Clinton Collision, who were attending to the scene, said that the accident happened Wednesday morning, but it was still being cleaned up late Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened in the westbound lane of I-90 in the area of Whitesboro.

The rig was totaled, along with the rest of the vehicle, and took down about 30 yards of guard rail in the course of the accident.

Traffic was down to one westbound lane between the Utica and Westmoreland exits around 4 p.m., at which point crews had managed to flip the cab over.
