Traffic stop leads to several charges for Ilion man

(WKTV) - An Ilion man faces several charges after a traffic stop, Ilion Police said.

Richard W. Morgan, 31, of Ilion is charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, five misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle,  violation charges of unlawful possession of marijuana, no/inadequate tail lamps and no/inadequate headlights.

All charges stem from a traffic stop of a car Morgan was operating in the Village of Ilion, police said.

Morgan was sent to Herkimer County Correctional Facility on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bail bond.
