Troopers: Limousine passenger falls out on Thruway, killed by passing car

VERONA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Authorities say a Pennsylvania man was struck and killed by a car on the New York State Thruway Sunday morning after he fell out of a limousine bus near Verona.

According to New York State Police, Brian Bauer, 29, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, fell out of the back doors of the moving limousine bus around 2:30 a.m. as it was traveling in the westbound lane of the Thruway near the Verona exit.

Bauer was reportedly part of a party who were returning to the Syracuse area after visiting the Lava Dance Club at Turning Stone Casino and Resort. The limousine bus he was riding on was reported to be one of the Oneida Nation’s shuttle transportation vehicles.

Authorities are searching for the car and its driver, who they say did not stop at the scene after striking Bauer.

Troopers have little information regarding the vehicle that hit Bauer or a description of the driver of the car. They are asking for the public's help in this investigation.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Investigator Mark Nell of the NYS Police in Oneida at 315-366-6000.
