By SPENCER DAVIDSON

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A tow truck operator was injured after being struck by another vehicle on State Route 5 in New Hartford, Friday.

Shortly before 8 p.m., Richard Delahunt, 69, was attempting to remove a disabled vehicle from the highway, when a passing vehicle approached from the south and lost control while attempting to change lanes, sliding into Delahunt's truck before hitting him directly.

The other vehicle was driven by Jessica Guzewich, 26, who was issued traffic tickets for violating New York's Move Over law, unsafe tire and failure to provide proof of insurance.

She will answer the tickets in the Town of New Hartford Court at a later date.

Delahunt was transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, after sustaining head and knee injuries in the collision.
