Turning Stone rolls out new slot machine system

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - Turning Stone Casino unveiled cash play slot machines Monday, so there's no more running to the cage to put more money on your cards.

Characters from the "Wizard of Oz" and "Wheel of Fortune" were on hand -- as well a Willy Wonka -- to show off their new themed slot machines, and the first 500 players Monday got $5 in free play.

Some of the slots are linked to casinos in other states, so the jackpots are even higher. The change is a $15 million investment for Turning Stone. And, says the director of casino promotions, the machines are user friendly -- no need to learn about technology, just sit down and play.

"We liked it better that you put the money in and stay in your seat," said Linda Debottis, a slot player. "It made it a lot more convenient for us."

The casino will also provide more staff on the floor, who will remind players to make sure to hit the cash out button before they get up, so the next person who sits down won't get their winnings.
