(WKTV) - Two people face felony charges after Utica Police say they were caught with items that were allegedly stolen from a car.
Rafael Vargas, 43, of Mary Street, is charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property and felony grand larceny. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief. Catherine Turnage, 34, of Mary Street, is charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property.
According to officials, officer responded to the County Office Building around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a larceny from a car. The victim told officers that someone broke the window of her vehicle and stole a GPS, radio, cell phone and radar detector. Officers interviewed a witness who said a man was spotted walking from the vehicle very quickly while carrying a plastic bag. Officers located the man walking nearby with a female. They had with them a plastic bag that contained all of the items that were reported stolen.
