Two charged after authorities search Otego motel room

OTEGO, N.Y. (WKTV) - A search of a motel room in Otsego County Tuesday afternoon has resulted in the arrests of a man and woman, and the discovery of drugs, packaging materials, cash and more.

According to the Otsego County Sheriff's Office, they received information that parolee Michael Rojas, 39, of Oneonta was in possession of drugs and contacted State Parole Officers with the information.

On Tuesday, February 15, Otsego County Sheriff's Investigators and Oneonta Police Detectives assisted the parole officers with the search of Rojas' and his friend, Nancy J. Neapolitano's motel room in Otego.

During the search, authorities found four crack cocaine pipes, 129 glassine envelopes containing heroin and $756 in U.S. currency.

Authorities said the seized heroin (approximately four grams of aggregate weight) is valued at $2,580.

Rojas was arrested and charged for third and fourth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for the heroin. Neapolitano was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for the crack pipes.

Both were arraigned by an Otego Judge Tuesday evening.

Rojas, a two time convicted felon, was sent to the Otsego County Correctional Facility without bail returnable Friday, February 18 for a felony hearing. If convicted of either drug charge he could face up to 15 years to life in prison.

Neapolitano's bail was set at $2,500 and she faces up to one year in the Otsego County Correctional Facility.
