Two children injured in ATV crash


LEE CENTER, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two female ATV riders were injured in a single vehicle accident, Saturday morning.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, the two riders, ages 13 and 12 were operating an ATV northbound Capron Road, at appproximately 9 a.m., when the driver lost control of the vehicle and ended up in a roadside ditch.

Responders from the Sheriff's office, as well as the town of Lee Fire Department, and AmCare Ambulance were on scene to assist the riders.

Both girls suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica for further evaluation.

Neither of the riders were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, and while no tickets have been issued at this time, the accident is still under investigation.
