Two exposed to rabies in Town of Marcy

(WKTV) - Two people were exposed to rabies in the Town of Marcy, the Oneida County Health Department said.

According to the department, a barn cat on a local farm was acting aggressive and bit two people. The cat tested positive for rabies. The two who were exposed are undergoing post-exposure treatment. The other animals on the farm will be vaccinated for rabies and observed for symptoms.

The Oneida County Health Department will offer two rabies clinics in July. One will be July 17 at the Rome City Hall and one is July 21 at the Annsville Highway Garage.
