Two men charged in connection to camp burglaries in Salisbury

SALISBURY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two men from Herkimer County have been charged in connection to several burglaries of seasonal camps in the Town of Salisbury in the area of Jerseyfield Lake.

According to New York State Police, Ryan M. Siver, 29, of Mohawk and Jacob A. McCooey, 20, of Middleville were arrested and charged with third-degree burglary.

Both men were arraigned in the Town of Salisbury Town Court and remanded to the Herkimer County Jail on $15,000 cash / $30,000 bail bond.

State Police said the two men stole a generator, tools, chainsaws and several rifles/shotguns from the camps they entered. At this time a large generator, several chainsaws, and miscellaneous tools/camp gear have been recovered.

Anyone with a camp located on or near Jerseyfield Road is asked to check their property and report any break-ins to the State Police in Herkimer at 315-866-7275.

The New York State Police IG's Office and the Dolgeville Police Department also assisted in the investigation.
