Two-month investigation leads to prescription medication arrest

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - Herkimer Police have accused a local man with selling prescription medication from his apartment.

Police say they have charged John Yost, 47 of 210 N. Main Street with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony.

Members of the Herkimer Police Special Response Team executed a 'no knock' search warrant on the morning of January 11, 2013 at Yost's apartment and recovered illegally possessed prescription medication, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a scale, and packaging material.

Yost was arraigned in village court and committed to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility without bail.

The arrest comes after a two month investigation and additional arrests are expected. Police were assisted in the investigation by the Herkimer County District Attorney's Office.
