Two teens arrested after Utica car break-ins

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Police arrested two suspects that they say were breaking into cars this week.

Several officers responded to the break-ins on Thursday at several locations: Hammond Avenue, Wetmore Street, McQuade Avenue and Roberta Lane.

One of the officers saw two teens walking through a parking lot wearing backpacks. Police tried to talk to them, and the officer says the two started running.

Police caught up with 17-year-old Doncharvell Patterson hiding in a yard on Morris Street and 17-year-old Raymond Garrett at his home on Miller Street.

Police say the backpacks were full of stolen goods. The teens are charged with criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny, and criminal mischief.
