UC Hockey fans gather at Shots for big game

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) -It was a big night for utica college hockey fans, Friday.

The pioneers faced-off with Wisconsin Eau Claire in Lake Placid. It's the first time the team has ever been to the NCAA tournament and they made it to the national semifinals.

Many Uticans gathered at local bars tonight to watch the big game.

At "Shots" on Varick Street they were streaming the match live on a large projector.

"They have really good support here. I think that's what makes Utica special. We're not too big and we're not too small," said Josh Myers a new UC Hockey fan.
