UPD: Man arrested after running over another man

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - On Sunday, Utica Police announced the arrest of a man involved in a large fight that occurred on late Friday night.

According to police, officers responded to a large fight in the area of Dudley Avenue and Square Street. People were scattered in the roadway and front lawn of 1413 Dudley Avenue and located one man laying on his back, who was bleeding from his face.

Officers say they learned that the injured man was "run-over" by his "baby mama's boyfriend" with his car. Utica Police officers located the driver and his vehicle in front of 1404 Dudley Avenue and placed him in custody.

The suspect is 38-year-old Jerome Crosby who was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of marijuana, reckless driving, unsafe backing, failed to keep right, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving on a sidewalk.

At the time of Crosby's arrest he is alleged to have been intoxicated and in possession of metal knuckles and marijuana.

The man injured by the motor vehicle was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
