Fugitive serial rapist found in PA driving homicide victim's car
MONTOURSVILLE, PA (WKTV) - Utica Police say a serial rapist who was sought by authorities after skipping his parole has been found in Pennsylvania, driving the car of a North Utica homicide victim.
Robert Blainey was pulled over during a traffic stop at 6:30 p.m. Monday evening in Montoursville, Pennsylvania, driving a 2001 Black Toyota Solara Convertible that belonged to 68 year old Linda Turner.
Turner was found dead inside the Davis Motel she owned on Herkimer Road on the morning of Thursday, November 3. Turner also lived on the property where the motel sits, and police said her car was missing following her death.
Robert Blainey is a serial rapist who was first imprisoned for the attempted rape of an eight-year-old girl in Madison County in the early 1980s. He was out on parole for that crime when he committed two more rapes. While recently on parole for the latter, he stopped reporting to his parole officer and essentially disappeared.
That was several weeks ago when Blainey was living on the 900 block of Rutger Street in east Utica.
Since authorities released Blainey's photo, the U.S. Marshals tip line had received numerous tip calls, but none of the sightings have delivered the fugitive.
Blainey seemed to have dropped out of sight - that is until the evening of Monday, November 7, when he was pulled over during a traffic stop in Montoursville, PA driving Linda Turner's car.
Investigators from the Utica Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, are currently in route to Montoursville, PA.
