(WKTV) - A Unadilla man is accused of robbing a store in Otego early Thursday and leading authorities on a car chase, New York State Police said.

Ryan Kennedy, 29, is charged with robbery in the second degree, grand larceny in the third degree, aggravated felony DWI and other penal law and vehicle and traffic charges.

According to officials, New York State Police at Oneonta responded to a report of a robbery about 4:40 a.m. Thursday at the Mirabito Quickway on County Route 48 in Otego. A man entered the store armed with what appeared to be a black pistol and fled the store in a 2000 GMC pickup after stealing gasoline, cigarettes, beer and snacks.

The suspect vehicle was noticed by State Police in Richfield Springs on State Route 205 in the Town of Hartwick and attempted to pull the truck over. The driver failed to comply and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit ended when the truck became disabled. Officials determined the truck had been stolen from a Unadilla home. Inside the truck were two black pellet guns, along with proceeds from the robbery.

Kennedy was processed at the State Police barracks in Oneonta, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.19. He was sent to Otsego County Jail.
