By WKTV News

(WKTV) - The United Way and Herb Philipsons teamed up to donate coats and boots to kids in need.

It's the fifth consecutive year the two have partnered up. This year, around 100 brand new coats and 100 new pairs of boots will go to local children.

Five area elementary schools received the donations on Monday.  The recipient schools were Poland Elementary, Barringer Road, Kernan, Martin Luther King Jr. and Watson Williams elementaries.

United Way and Herb Philipsons representatives said they fee the schools are the perfect avenue to get greatly needed winter clothing to children and families in Oneida and Herkimer counties.
