UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica is once again getting the funds raised at the Boilermaker Pasta Dinner.

On Monday, a check for $4,000 was presented to the United Way at a ceremony at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica.

Boilermaker representatives say that giving the money to the local chapter of the United Way is their way of getting it back into the community, because the United Way services so many other orgnaizations.

The Boilermaker Pasta Dinner is always held the Saturday before the 15k race, starting out as one meal at the Masonic Care Community and becoming a yearly tradition.

"We had that one dinner and then we decided to continue it every single year and make it a part of the Boilermaker," said Cindy Dardano, Pasta Dinner Coordinator.

This year was the 15th Boilermaker pasta dinner.
