Utica College hosting panel discussion on private gun ownership

(WKTV) - The Applied Ethics Institute at Utica College will host a discussion Thursday on private gun ownership.

The panel discussion will be at 7 p.m. in the library concourse on the school's campus. "In the Crosshairs: Private Gun Ownership" will examine pros and cons of private gun ownership in the United States.

The two speakers of the panel are Jack Weinstein and Timothy Hall, professors who hold opposing views on the issue.

Weinstein is a professor in philosophy and religion at the University of North Dakota, while Hall is an associate professor at Oberlin College in Ohio with interests in ethics.

Christopher Riddle, assistant professor and chair of philosophy at Utica College and chair of the Applied Ethics Institute, will moderate the discussion.

The discussion is free and open to the public.
