Utica College receives recognition from Federal agencies for Cybersecurity program

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Utica College cybersecurity program is getting national recognition.
 
The school was named as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the NSA and Department of Homeland Security.
     
It was also given the distinction of becoming a National Center for Digital Forensics Academic Excellence from the Defense Cyber Crime Center.
     
With the honors, Utica is the only institution that has received endorsements from multiple government agencies, and has now become recognized as one of the premier institutions in the U.S. for Cybersecurity education.
 
"It's momentous for us, there are only a handful of schools throughout the country that have both certifications," said Utica College President, Todd Hutton. "We have both at the highest level, we're the only one to have both certifications at the highest level. 
 
"If you name some of the big names, it's pretty impressive that we're in that kind of company."
 

In addition to this announcement, the school also announced that they will be adding a Master's program for Cybersecurity, as well as, a Doctorate program in the near future.
