Utica Comets hold first media day

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The new team in town held its first ever media day, Wednesday.

The Utica Comets, coming off of their first ever win, in Rome, on Sunday against the Adirondack Phantoms, talked to the media and seemed in high spirits after getting a sampling of what's to come once the season begins later this month.

Fans have been excited all summer for the Comets to hit the ice, and after Sunday's win, the players, themselves seem excited to play in from of this Utica crowd.

The Comets will begin their season with 3 road games before coming home to hit The Aud ice for the first time for real, on October 23rd.

When the season does finally arrive, the players are hoping to build upon the fan base that powered them to their first win in Rome, while the fans will be waiting to cheer on AHL hockey, in Utica, for the first time in 20 years.
