Utica Comets players give back to community at Rescue Mission

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - Some members of the Utica Comets took time to give back to the community Tuesday.

They were at the Utica Rescue Mission serving up meals and meeting and greeting patrons.

The Utica Rescue Mission provides services to hundreds of people who are battling homelessness, abuse and addiction. They offer shelter, clothing, food, counseling and education. On Tuesday, the Comets wanted to help with their mission.

"Being a hockey player is more than just playing hockey," said Yann Sauve of the Utica Comets. "We're a big part of the city right now, and I think it's good to give back."

The Comets have more community appearances set up for this month and in March. The Comets will be back at the Aud next Wednesday for a game against San Antonio.
