Utica Food Bank makes temporary move

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Utica Community Food Dank has a new, temporary home after it was forced to close its location on Bleecker Street because of electrical problems found by the city's codes department.

Volunteers helped clean and put up shelving on Sunday in the former Chatterbox Lounge at the corner of Genesee Street and Bank Place.

Board of Directors' President Mark Wolber says the board is in the process of looking into the cost of what it will take to re-open its Bleecker Street location, but for now, he says it's important that area people in need can still get food.

Wolber says he hopes to have the new location open Monday at some point, but definitely by Tuesday.

Donations can now be dropped off at the temporary location at 239 Genesee Street.
