UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica police say an officer was punched by a man he pulled over.

Police say 38 year old Trevor Harris of Holland Avenue has been charged with resisting arrest, three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana.

Police say Harris was pulled over on Mandeville St. around 3:30 Friday afternoon, and when Harris was asked to exit the vehicle, he reached into his pockets. That's when the officer says he patted down Harris to check for weapons and says Harris punched him and then ran but was quickly tackled by the officer and arrested.

A passenger in the vehicle is also facing drug charges.
