Utica Police make heroin arrest near Dunkin Donuts

Utica Police have made a heroin arrest at the Dunkin Donuts on Schuyler Street.

Police say a narcotics investigator watched as two men sat in a car and performed the "typical" actions of heroin users.

The officers stopped the car and found David Vogt of Rome in possession of a hypodermic needle with heroin in in.

The passenger, Matthew Brandt of Herkimer, had heroin in his pocket along with a metal spoon with heroin residue.

Both are charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Vogt was also charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic needle.
