UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Police in the City Utica responded to the scene of what is now being called a homicide investigation at the Olbiston Apartments on Genesee Street shortly before 11 a.m. Monday.

Several police cars and a forensics investigation van were all on the scene Monday. An ambulance had also been on the scene, but left shortly after 11 a.m.

According to Utica Police Chief Mark Williams, officers responded to the scene for a report of a man in cardiac arrest. When they arrived, police found Allen Minor, 47, dead in an apartment on the second floor. Police said Minor was a resident of the Olbiston but could not say as of this writing if he was found in his own apartment.

Police are awaiting a report from the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office before they release the nature of Minor's death.

This is the third homicide in the City of Utica for 2013.

In 2012 the city saw just one homicide.
