UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - One man is recovering from a gun shot wound in the abdomen after police said he accidentally shot himself while at Super 8 Motel Monday night.
Police said the gun discharged when he threw a jacket on top of his gun that was sitting on a dresser.
The Florida man legally possessed the gun and no charges are expected.
His injuries are considered non-life threatening.
