Utica Police warn residents of possible water scam

UTICA, N.Y(WKTV) Utica Police are warning residents of a possible water scam. They say an elderly woman on Lincoln Ave. reports that a man came to her door at 9 am Monday posing at a water authority worker.

He also showed some type of I.D. The woman says he asked her to go to the bathroom to turn the water on and off, while he checked the water in the house.

After a few minutes she went to find him and saw that he was gone. She also found that her purse was gone through and several items were missing.

The suspect is described as a white male with a mustache. Police would like the public to be aware of this scam.
