Utica Zoo celebrates 100th birthday in style

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Utica Zoo turned 100 years old this week and a a huge birthday celebration Sunday.
The event was sponsored by Indium Corporation, and it allowed people free admission into the zoo to celebrate with the animals.
There were several food vendors present, live music being played and numerous activities for kids to partake in around the park.
"By 1 o'clock today we had 2,300 people here," said Andria Heath, executive director of the zoo. "We opened at 11, so I think that we're really catching the eye of our community."
While the celebration was this weekend, the official 100th birthday was on Tuesday.
