UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Memorial Day festivities continued in Utica with the always popular Genesee St. Parade, Monday.
Hundreds lined the street, excited to celebrate and honor those who serve.
There was plenty of entertainment to soak in, including multiple marching bands, karate demonstrations, fire fighter and police floats.
One woman says she watched the parade every year because her son always participates.
I'm here today because my son is a shriner and he's  going to be one of clowns and I'm excited to see him," said Dixie Madore of New Hartford. "I think it's important for everyone to come together and honor everyone that's fallen so we can be free."

The parade down Genesee St. Lasted for approximately one hour.
