Utica man accused of predatory sexual assault against child

(WKTV) - A Utica man was arrested Wednesday afternoon on a child sexual assault charge, the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center said.

Edward Abounader, 40, of Utica, is charged with predatory sexual assault against a child.

According to authorities, the incident involves a family member, who is now 13, who was visiting from out of town. The abuse had allegedly been going on for a number of years. All six officers on the staff at the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center helped in the investigation.

He is being held in Utica Police lockup pending his arraignment. There is no bail on the charge.

The case was investigated by Oneida County Sheriff's Investigator Melissa Bolton, who is currently assigned to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
