Utica man accused of shoplifting at same store he allegedly robbed

(WKTV) - A Utica man faces charges after he allegedly shoplifted at the same store he was accused of robbing a few weeks prior, Utica police said.

Jorge Alvardo, 20, of Rutger Street, is charged with robbery in the third degree, petit larceny, false personation and possession of alcohol by a minor.

According to police, early in the morning on April 1, authorities received a report of a robbery at the Fastrac on Oriskany Street. A man allegedly entered the store and threatened the clerk before leaving with money and cigarettes.

Around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, a clerk called police to report the same man who robbed the store shoplifted before fleeing. An officer in the area found a man fitting the description on Parker Street.
