(WKTV) - A Utica man faces charges after he allegedly wrote checks on his father's account, Utica police say.

Christopher Jones, 56, of Bleecker Street, was charged March 11 with misdemeanor petit larceny and felony possession of a forged instrument.

According to authorities, in January, the son of an 89-year-old man noticed unusual checks being written on the older man's account. He contacted authorities, who, in conjunction with the Office for the Aging, began a lengthy investigation. Christopher Jones is the victim's other son.
