Utica man arrested after biting police officer
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - No word yet on whether bath salts were involved in an incident where police say a man bit an officer's arm, and wouldn't let go.
A Utica police officer spotted 46-year-old Jeremy Ross screaming in the street near Kennedy Plaza around 1:30 Friday morning. The officer says he tried to talk to the woman Ross was with, then Ross lunged at him and grabbed his face. The officer says he took Ross to the ground, and tried to take him into custody, when Ross bit his arm and wouldn't stop.
A second officer tasered Ross twice to get him under control. Ross is charged with assault, resisting arrest and harassment.
The officer was treated for his injuries.
