Utica man arrested after domestic dispute on Thruway

(WKTV) - A Utica man was arrested Monday after an alleged domestic dispute while in a car traveling down the Thruway in Seneca County, New York State Police said.

David A. Aikens, 24, of Utica, is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and harassment in the second degree.

According to authorities, a 26-year-old woman from Seneca Falls accused Aikens of making physical contact with her during an argument while she was driving. Three children under the age of 5 were in the car. Aikens allegedly grabbed the steering wheel and caused the vehicle to swerve into the path of a car, nearly causing a collision.

He was arraigned in the Town of Junius Court and sent to Seneca County Jail. An order of protection was issued against him.
