Utica man arrested after foot chase

(WKTV) - A Utica man faces several charges after he allegedly led police on a foot chase, Utica police said.

Mark Brooks, 28, of the 1500 block of Dudley Avenue, is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, obstructing governmental administration, unlawful possession of marijuana and a littering and open container violation.

According to authorities, around 10 p.m. Tuesday officers responded to a report of a man acting suspicious near Hobart and Elm streets. When police arrived, the man matching the description of the suspicious person fled on foot. After a foot chase, Brooks was arrested. He accused of having crack cocaine and marijuana with him at the time of his arrest. Brooks is currently under the supervision of New York State Parole
