Two people arrested following sex abuse investigation

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - One man and one woman were arrested Saturday following an investigation into sexual abuse of a child.

According to Oneida County Chief Deputy Dean Obernesser, Petra I. Gonzalez was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and Jerry McNair was arrested for sex abuse. Both are from Utica.

The investigation was a cooperation between the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center and the Utica Police Department.

The two were sent to the Oneida County Jail.

Gonzalez is being held on $5,000 bail and McNair on $40,000 bail.

The case has been turned over to the District Attorney's Office for grand jury consideration.

The child has been offered counseling.
