Utica men arrested on DWI, weapons charges in Village of Frankfort

(WKTV) - A traffic stop in the Village of Frankfort on Sunday led to the arrest of two Utica men on DWI and weapons charges, Frankfort police said.

Juan Ernesto Ortiz-Rodriguez, 27, of Utica is charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of more than .08 percent and an unlicensed operator.

Raji Omar Acevedo, 19, of Utica is charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a Class C felony.

According to officials, a car was stopped at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday and officers found the driver to be intoxicated. The passenger of the car allegedly attempted to conceal a loaded handgun during the traffic stop.

Both subjects were arraigned in the Village of Frankfort Court and sent to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
