Utica police respond to back-to-back robberies

(WKTV) - Utica police are investigating two robberies that took place within minutes of each other Monday night, officials said.

According to authorities, officers responded to the Dunkin Donuts on North Genesee Street around 8:35 p.m. for a robbery. A suspect threatened the clerk, then fled with cash.

While officers were investigating the Dunkin Donuts robbery, a call was received at 8:53 p.m. from the clerk at the Red Roof Inn. The same suspect threatened the clerk and demanded money before fleeing.

The man is described as a black male who is about 50 years. He had "scruffy" facial hair and was wearing a dark jacket and dark hat.
