(WKTV) - A Utica man faces several charges after he allegedly had drugs in his possession and ended up Tased by police, Utica police said.
Joshua Robinson, 26, of West Street, is charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and unlawful possession of marijuana.
According to authorities, the UPD Metro Drug unit stopped a car at 1:30 p.m. on Elizabeth Street. Police suspect the occupants were selling drugs. Robinson allegedly concealed something in his hand. When officers attempted to take him into custody, he began fighting, police said. during the struggle, police used a Taser on Robinson, which police say had little effect on Robinson. The Taser fell to the ground and Robinson allegedly attempted to grab it. Police were able to keep it away from him and take him into custody. Police say Robinson had 10 plastic bags of crack cocaine and marijuana.
