Utica residents face felony drug charges

(WKTV) - Two Utica residents are accused of selling and distributing narcotics, Utica Police said.

Jamaal Jackson, 18, and Bethanne Cafarella, 20, both of Ney Avenue, are charged with felony criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. Jackson is charged with a violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.

According to officials, on Dec. 6, a traffic stop in Leland Avenue that was part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of narcotics was made by the UPD Metro Unit and the U.S. Marshal's Service and Patrol Division. During the stop, the police say they found cocaine and marijuana.
