Utica woman charged after car accident at New Hartford gas station

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica woman has been charged with DWI following a car crash at a New Hartford gas station.

According to New Hartford Police, Julie Borgia, 42, of Utica, drove into the East Mary building on Kellogg Road around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Police said the impact broke several glass panes along the side of the building.

Following an investigation and interview with Borgia, police said it was determined that she was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for DWI. She was processed at the New Hartford Police Station and police said a chemical breath test showed that he blood alcohol content was more than two times the legal NYS limit of .08%.

Borgia was charged with aggravated DWI and she was released with traffic tickets returnable at a later date to the New Hartford Town Court.
