Utica woman sends General Herkimer Elementary into lockdown

(WKTV) - A Utica woman faces charges after sending General Herkimer Elementary School into lockdown on Tuesday, Utica police said.

Nicole Tran, 33, of Mary Street, is charged with criminal trespass at a school and criminal contempt.

According to officials, Tran was seen outside the school in her vehicle around 12:40 p.m. Tuesday. Tran allegedly pulled into the parking lot and then rang the front doorbell several times. When the door wasn't answered, she went to the side door. Because there was an active order of protection against Tran, the school executed their protocols of a lockdown. Tran never gained entry into the school.
