Utter pleads guilty to second-degree murder in wife's death

(WKTV) - Larry Utter, who was accused of killing his wife in Forestport in June, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

Utter unexpectedly pleaded guilty this morning in Oneida County Court. He was just a few weeks from standing trial for the death of his wife, Stacey.

Authorities say Stacey Utter was found dead inside of the couple's Trestle Road home on June 11. Investigators say Utter called 911 and reported he had accidentally shot his wife.

According to an autopsy, Stacey Utter had been shot twice. Utter will be sentenced on Dec. 23.
