Vacant building causing concern in Frankfort

By WKTV News

FRANKFORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Village of Frankfort is under a State of Emergency. Village officials are worried about a vacant building that poses a serious threat.

The property that is causing the concern is located at 202 South Frankfort Street. The building has been vacant for some time and part of the roof has collapsed. Officials say the recent heavy rains made the situation worse.

South Frankfort Street is closed between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue until further notice.

Residents who live in the area are being asked to keep their windows closed because of potential dust.

Officials says the building will be torn down but it is not known when that will be taking place.

Residents are asked to stay away from the area.
